Hail

For all you Shakespeare lovers, this post is not about the popular Roman General referencing "All Hail Caesar"; instead its a weather post around Tornado and Hail. 

What started off as a beautiful morning turned completely upside down by that evening. There is a reason why people here talk about weather all the time. 'Lost for topics to discuss' or 'ice breakers' may not be the only reasons to do so.

For those of you who have not seen one, Hail is simply a shower of ice balls ranging from small to golf ball size to a soft ball. If you are indoors (you better be), it feels like somebody drumming heavily on your roof from all direction.

Dallas is not particularly in the Tornado alley but we do get one a year. A couple of days ago, a tornado passed close to the suburb we live in. ... Real close, was about 10 miles away. We were more impacted by the hail the tornado brought (for lack of a meteorology term) than the tornado itself. Doesn't it look like we emptied bags of ice on our lawn?

After a hail storm, we routinely check our cars, if parked outside for damage. Usually the roof is the most impacted. Trust me the following morning after a hail, you are sure to find roof repair companies going around neighborhoods knocking doors to see how they can help. ... Now, that's consumerism in our beloved US of A. On the other side you will also find car dealers telling you, there was no hail near their dealership or any damage to their cars parked outside.
