Girls Just Wanna have Fun !!!

With temperatures hitting 80s, it was a beautiful Saturday morning as we headed straight to Starbucks for some coffee and milk for the kids. We chatted a bit and planned for Ri's birthday party that evening.

I added Gharadilli chocolate chips into the cake batter and a few made its way into our mouths as well. We baked cup cakes and a square cake that was later cut in the shape of a cone. With some ready made icing, alphabet candies, glittery gel, a picture frame and an hour later, voila!!! The cake was ready.

As the girls started arriving, I painted their nails and added some flowers and heart shaped nail stickers.

Michelle Kwan and Tara Lipinski are my little girl's favorite sports figures and needless to say, ice skating her favorite sport. We took the girls for an evening of ice skating at the Galleria ice rink.

Food does taste better when hungry. The kids were famished by the time we came home to a simple dinner of noodles, cucumber sandwiches, lemonade, melon balls and cake.

When it comes to Ri's friends, the only thing the invite needs is a date. The girls come in early, in the pretext to help out and the party just never ends. The night was young and the party continued.

We turned on the disco lights and karaoke in our game room and transformed it to a dance floor. They danced and sang along to the tunes of Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and the likes. A few songs on Ri's current play list are "Naturally", "Mama Mia", "Disappear", "One and the same", "Tell me something I don't know", and "Girls just wanna have fun".

A birthday party is not complete without a goody bag. As the girls are older now, as they claim to be, the goody bag was a box with a bracelet inside. The following was inscribed on the bracelet. "Dance... As though no one is watching".
