How many decisions do you think I take in a day? The latest is whether or not to get my 11 year old a cell phone. Tough one, you would think. Really not. I tried hard to come up with one reason not to get it. I was unable to make up one; other than the fact that she is too young for it. Based on a couple of scheduling issues we finally decided get her a flip phone and upgrade it to a touch phone if she does not lose it for a whole year.
That's the plan for now. I can almost tell you how this story will end. Dad and daughter will look at all the phones in the store and some how magically end up with the smart phone. Their excuse - Best value for the money or someting along those lines.

Pretty much every 6th grader I know has a cell phone - Touch Pad with texting. It is not 'if' - question is 'when'. Most Americans would as you answered 'now' :))))
